What I learned from Brene Brown 2016:
The Gifts of Imperfection
Rising Strong
Daring Greatly
Dare to Lead
Here is a link to her well known TED TALK about vulnerability; the video that started popularity for her (as far as I can tell = )
FABULOUS!

The writing I did for an assignment called My Tunes captures some of how I was feeling as I declared LOVE to be my top priority when the pressures of life’s demands became too much to bear as a working mother with 2 young children and NO TIME. I also stole her phrase and described myself to many as a “recovering perfectionist.”

The Mind blowing Experience of The Untethered Soul and my introduction to Yoga 2019:
I embarked on what I now know to be my spiritual journey with Michael Singer’s The Untethered Soul. The concept of untethering, unattaching, yourself from material matter in our world was mind blowing for me last year. When he spoke of painful experiences of the past that cause energy to become trapped within a person, I understood that I had been experiencing it.
I have awakened! I’m so grateful!
Unexpected circumstances related to my right knee led me to practice YOGA as a safe form of regular exercise for the first time in October 2019 while I was reading The Untethered Soul. I marvelled at the new experience because . . .
A) I HAD NO IDEA YOGA would be such a workout! I had discounted the practice in my limited thoughts of the past. And I figured out the reason quite quickly - all those up and down dogs will work you out!
B) I HAD NO IDEA YOGA would be so accessible to me with a torn right ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) needing surgical repair. It’s wonderful that the practice and poses are possible for all people. I was amazed by the wonderful strength and flexibility I gained in preparation for my upcoming surgery in summer 2020.
C) I HAD NO IDEA YOGA would be all emotionally supportive and inspirational! It’s like therapy for the mind while the body is in work out mode. As I listened to my instructor, Melissa Davis, I was blown away by her concepts and messages in the same mind blowing way I felt when I was reading The Untethered Soul. I thought, OH MY GOODNESS, Melissa knows this stuff; it’s just like what she teaches. In fact, I bought her the book for Christmas 2019 because he’s speaking her language for sure. We haven’t spoken at length about it, but I felt convinced she connected with the content in that book. Imagine my delight when Mickey Singer himself explicitly referred to yoga ideology:
“You have a wellspring of beautiful energy inside of you. When you are open you feel it; when you are closed you don’t. This flow of energy comes from the depth of your being. It’s been called by many names. In ancient Chinese medicine, it is called Chi. In yoga, it is called Shakti. In the West, it is called Spirit. Call it anything you want. All the great spiritual traditions talk about your spiritual energy; they just give it different names. That spiritual energy is what you’re experiencing when love rushes up into your heart. That is what you’re experiencing when you’re enthused by something and all this high energy comes up inside of you. You”

With The Untethered Soul in my hand, it did not take me long to stumble upon the master of PRESENCE, Mr. Eckhart Tolle.
Master Eckhart Tolle
I sit in deep meditation, hoping for inspiration worthy of the master. What’s worse, Eckhart Tolle stumbling across this website with nothing written about him or with poorly written words about him? Oh the torment of a writer! LOL!
I’m happy I found one of his many, many videos that is PERFECT for this website. Eckhart Tolle actually speaks about Zen and Zen Masters in the video linked here. It also features his endearing little mannerisms that I have grown to appreciate, and even unintentionally imitate on occasion - so funny!
